Aubrie Sellers Leaves a Man Quaking In His Boots on ‘Drag You Down’
"I hope you have a real good doctor or a really good nurse / I'm gonna drag you down with me," goes the ominous opening verse.
Garage-country pioneer Aubrie Sellers is back in boot-quaking action with the new single, “Drag You Down,” a high-octane rocker about a man who should be very, very afraid.
The daughter of ’90s country star Lee Ann Womack (“I Hope You Dance,” “I’ll Think of a Reason Later”), Sellers began making her name as a fiery vocalist with a gritty, hard-rocking soul three years ago, and she carries on the mantle with “Drag You Down.” A femme fatale anthem filled with swagger — and more than a little bit of aggression — it’s built on scorching guitars, howling vocals and knuckle-busting drums, marking the first taste of her upcoming second album.
“I’m so excited to dive in full throttle and share this new music,” Sellers shares. “’Drag You Down’ is a snapshot of a sharp feeling, and I hope it’s a song people find cathartic to thrash along to when they feel discounted.”

There’s no word yet on when Sellers’ sophomore album will be released, but it will find her once again teaming with co-producer and stepdad Frank Liddell (Miranda Lambert, Jack Ingram, Brandi Carlile), who was also behind the control board for her 2016 debut, New City Blues. Looking ahead, Sellers will make an appearance at this year’s Americana Music Festival in Nashville, taking place September 10 – 15.
