Darius Rucker will bring his annual concert benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to the Ryman Auditorium this summer. Scheduled for August 17, the 12th Annual Darius and Friends Benefit Concert will continue its mission to help end childhood cancer.

Since its inception, the concert has raised over $2 million to date and will be a return to in-person celebrations as the 2020 concert was entirely virtual. This year will also be a hybrid-event, allowing fans outside of Nashville to watch online.

“The incredible work being done at St. Jude really made an impact on me when I had a chance to visit and hear the patients’ stories,” shares Rucker. “They are some of the bravest people I’ve ever met and being able to support them with this event is always a highlight of my year. I’m so glad we’ll be back to performing in front of a full house at the Ryman for such a great cause!”

The lineup for this year’s event will be announced soon, but past participants have included Lauren Alaina, Brooks & Dunn, Kane Brown, Luke Bryan, Luke Combs, Sheryl Crow, Randy Houser, Ashley McBryde, A.J. McLean of the Backstreet Boys, Brad Paisley, Kenny Rogers and Brett Young, among many others.

St. Jude’s purpose is written as “Finding Cures. Saving Children.” The goal is to help end childhood cancers and other life-threatening diseases. Since the hospital opened more than 50 years ago, St. Jude has helped push the childhood cancer survival rate from 20 person to more than 80 percent. St. Jude will also never send a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food to families as they believe that the family should only have to worry about their child’s recovery.
