Hunter Hayes has just added another four-legged friend to his little family. The sweet pup made her debut when Hayes posted a photo of the dog sitting patiently in the shotgun seat of his car.

“@proverbs1210animalrescue, thank you for this little adventurer,” Hayes wrote of the brown and white dog. “Everybody meet Ella! And here is the only picture of her sitting still I might ever have!”

The rescue Hayes adopted from his a Nashville-based no kill, not-for-profit animal rescue. Ella joins the 25-year-old’s Greyhound named Cole. Hayes adopted the ex-racer in January 2015.

Hayes will have his hands full as he balances life with two pups and a new album on the way. The singer and multi-instrumentalist is busy preparing to release his follow-up to 2015’s three-disc project The 21 Project. The new album is one Hayes refers to as a “journey to self-discovery” after dealing with vocal issues for several years.

“It’s been all the things I’ve really wanted it to be. It’s been this huge journey of self-discovery, all that stuff,” Hayes recently told Sounds Like Nashville exclusively. “It’s been good for my soul and I’ve learned a lot about myself.”

No word on when the new project will be released.
