Not only have the guys of Parmalee spent their lives using the word, ‘scufflin,’ in their normal conversations, but they also know the meaning of it due to their time in the music industry.

Defining phrases and terms coined in their native North Carolina hometown, the band gives fans the lowdown on their own language for “The Country Dictionary.” For this week’s clip, they talk about the true meaning of ‘scufflin’ and how it takes a lot of grit to succeed in any job you put your mind to.

“Struggling just to do every little thing you can just to make that last piece of change and you’re sweatin’,” the band concluded.

As touring musicians themselves, it took a lot of ‘scufflin’ for them to reach the point in their career that they are today by scraping together enough money from touring and releasing music to continue on in their dreams of being a country music band.
