Peyton Manning Sings ‘Rocky Top’ at Whiskey Jam in Nashville

“Only in Nashville!”

That’s what many people said last night when they were at Winners Bar and Grill in Nashville for the popular Monday night event, Whiskey Jam.

Typically, Whiskey Jam features a number of local singers and songwriters, but yesterday, a new face stepped up on stage… Denver Broncos’ Quarterback Peyton Manning!

The football superstar was in town for the HCA/TriStar Health Red Cross Lifesaver Breakfast, held earlier that day in the Music City Center. He joined Lee Brice and Dan + Shay’s Shay Mooney onstage to sing “Rocky Top,” the Tennessee Volunteers’ unofficial fight song, as well as Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues.”

A number of Whiskey Jam attendees posted video of the out-of-the-ordinary guest appearance.

Manning has Tennessee ties having played college football at the University of Tennessee. He led the Vols’ to the 1997 SEC Championship in his senior season, leading him to be drafted in the 1998 NFL Draft as the first overall pick by the Indianapolis Colts. He recently retired from the NFL, shortly after winning Super Bowl 50 against the Carolina Panthers.
