Nashville. Music City. The Athens of the South. This Tennessee town may have built its reputation based on the simple stereotypes that tourists seek out on TV, but in our Nashville, we follow the trends while honoring the traditions that built this spot into the legacy it’s created. Each week, we focus on the latest gallivant around the streets we’ve come to call home for a new adventure and give readers an inside look on what makes this city special. Join us as we chronicle the hilarious and wild experiences with KB in the City.

Palm trees scattered everywhere that meets the eye. Mid-century modern fixtures placed in every nook and cranny. The pure tint of white walls creating wide, open spaces to relax in.

It’s not a California dreamland one may mistake this oasis for—it’s the SoBro Guest House located right on the outskirts of downtown Nashville.

A little more than a year ago, SoBro Guest House opened its doors to Nashvillians and visitors alike with its vibrant attention to detail and home away from home aesthetic set up in each and every part of the property. Hoping to transport guests into a tropical yet trendy sanctuary away from the Broadway bedlam, the 24 Jack suites offered provide that comfy sweet spot perfect for an Insta-worthy backdrop or girls’ night in.

Taking advantage of technological discoveries, the boutique guest house doesn’t rely on key cards and 24-hour concierge but rather individual codes to get into every door for extra security. Once a guest receives the text message direct to their own phone with each password provided, it basically serves as the good-to-go approval that the adventure is just about to begin.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by the glamorous whites and greens splattered throughout the suite in the artistic stylings that SoBro Guest House prides itself upon. The retro palm-tree wallpaper and wooden record player inserted me back to simpler times while the sleek shine from the smooth countertops and eclectic-tiled backsplash brought the modern touch of luxury.

Throwing on a Billy Joel vinyl from the 80s, the apartment turned into a dream-like paradise where the city buzzed and beeped blocks away and the safe haven of SoBro escaped the worries of the world. Nevertheless, the property doesn’t lose touch with its Nashville roots by popping elements of Music City, in the form of local magazines and fresh coffee beans, all throughout the room.

The staycation element came into effect as I tucked into the luscious king-sized cloud (also known as a bed, but think more comfy and fluffy) with a glass of bubbly like living the high-end dream. Surrounded by plush white linens in a terry-cloth robe nonetheless, SoBro Guest House makes sure there’s no shortage of luxury while still keeping the vibe rather laidback and chill like the West Coast dream.

Awaking the next morning refreshed and feeling ready to take on the world, I soaked up the last few hours in the Jack Suite by hopping into the delicately-tiled shower complete with the amenities one needs for a quick rinse. Forgot shampoo? It’s there. Can’t find the conditioner? They’ve got it. Didn’t want to pack body wash or soap? Just grab a couple pumps from the wall containers and you’re good to go. Parting was such sweet sorrow (a bit too dramatic possibly?) for the thought of leaving behind the home away from home I relaxed into seemed devastating. SoBro Guest House wasn’t just a getaway destination right in the heart of Music City, but rather the dream apartment vision for any en vogue 20 to 30-something looking for a place of inspiration and comfort all the same.

Although Nashville may be dubbed as one of the top cities to travel to within the United States, staying at SoBro Guest House will make the Music City adventure even more vivacious than the energetic rumblings of Broadway or the guitar-slingers packed in each honkytonk combined. But at the end of the day, SoBro Guest House provides a home to the dreamers, creators and wanderlust that makes the town what it is.

SoBro Guest House rooms range in price depending on their availability and time of the year. Their Jack Suites start as low as $189 a night and go up in price from that point in coordination to day and season. For more information on booking a room at the property or to learn in details about its beginnings, readers can head over to the SoBro Guest website and click ‘Book Now’ to reserve a room.
