In the past few years, Brett Eldredge has solidified himself as one of country music’s newest superstars. While he’s pretty much an open book on social media, even the most dedicated of fans want to get to know their favorite singer inside and out.

Through the ways of social media and Eldredge’s charming personality, he’s let his listeners in on many aspects in his life, from hanging out with his family to documenting dog’s day out with his furry friend. Nevertheless, he still remains a bit of a mystery man when it comes to knowing what goes on behind the microphone.

For those wanting know to everything there is to know about the 31-year-old, Sounds Like Nashville thought we would break down a few fun facts about the country star that fans may (or may not) know.

Here are 15 things you may not know about Brett Eldredge…

  1. He’s from Paris…kind of

Eldredge does indeed hail from the city of Paris, but not the metropolis over in France by any means. His hometown lies tucked away in the Illinois state limits and he’s proud to be a true Parisian despite adopting Nashville as his new town of residency.

  1. Wrigley Field is his home away from home

Fly that W because we’ve got a Cubs fan on our hands! Eldredge didn’t just jump on the Cubbies bandwagon with their successful season last year taking home the World Series Trophy—he’s grown up loving the game and the red-and-blue team forever. He even filmed the music video for “Wanna Be That Song” at the iconic baseball stadium Chicago. Now that’s some dedication.

  1. The love of his life happens to be his dog

Sorry, ladies. Eldredge is taken, but not by some wonderful woman. Over the past year, the country crooner has fallen head over heels for his pup, Edgar. The two are attached at the hip at this point as Eldredge takes his four-legged friend on the road with him wherever he goes.

  1. Eldredge shows pride for his hometown with his dog’s name

It’s no random coincidence that Eldredge named his dog, Edgar. “I had so many different ideas for different names for him,” he told Sounds Like Nashville. “I think about where I’m from a lot. My album is called ‘Illinois,’ and I always try to remember my roots and remember where I came from. I came from Paris, Illinois in the County of Edgar County. I always loved the word Edgar, so I named him after my homeland.”

  1. He practically coined the idea of ‘Bedhead Jams’

If you love Eldredge and Snapchat, you’re in luck. The country singer busts out a cappella renditions of songs around his house for ‘Bedhead Jams’ every time he gets the chance. Even better when Edgar joins along with a little howling of his own—too cute!

  1. Frank Sinatra inspired Eldredge’s dapper ways and clean vocals

Although Sinatra was known for his jazzier ways, Eldredge always cites the iconic crooner for inspiring his vocals and developing his classic sound. That vibe definitely rang true throughout Eldredge’s 2016 Christmas album, Glow, as he brought the heart and soul to his holiday hits.

  1. Eldredge is a bit of a potty mouth

Don’t go washing Eldredge’s mouth out with soap anytime soon, though. He recently sat down with Buzzfeed to let fans in on some fun facts, and he admitted to loving every single swear word out there. To heck with it!

  1. His hangover cure? For every drink, down a water.

“You gotta go one for one,” Eldredge told Sounds Like Nashville on the BMI Country Awards red carpet back in 2016. “For every drink, you go a water. That’s the trick. You heard it here first. One for one.”

  1. Whiskey on the rocks is what you’ll find Eldredge sipping on

Of course, a classy man has to choose a classy drink when he bellies up to the bar. For Eldredge, that means to channel his inner Rat Pack ways with a whiskey on the rocks as he told Buzzfeed.

  1. He’s a bit of a daredevil

Skydiving, white water river-rafting, oh my! Eldredge shows he’s not really afraid of anything with his adventurous experiences every chance he gets. Who knows what he’ll be doing next…only time will tell!

  1. Eldredge goes hard for the Christmas spirit

Not only was Eldredge one of the many country stars that contributed to the plethora of Christmas albums in 2016, he also dressed up as Santa for the Halloween holiday. Safe to say that Eldredge lights up like a Christmas tree every time the holidays roll around.

  1. He gives Keith Urban creds for helping establish his stage presence

“The way he lets you be the artist you want to be and encourages that and encourages you to get up there and show your stuff, and also very open to bringing you in front of his fans up there on stage with him and sing with him every night and just really promote the artists that he tours with because he believes in them, and that’s what I want to do one day with my tours is help out others as well,” he told SLN back when he was on the Ripcord Tour with Urban last year.

  1. Zaxby’s is at the top of his fast-food indulgence list

Although Eldredge seems to be one of those health nuts, he’ll splurge when it comes to a meal at Zaxby’s. He even fought with his pal Thomas Rhett during a commercial for the Southern chicken chain over a salad. That’s when you know the love is too real.

  1. Not only is he a great singer, but Eldredge knows how to act

Eldredge busted out his acting chops for a number of his own music videos, including his latest hit, “Somethin’ I’m Good At,” and his hilarious roles throughout “Drunk on Your Love.”

  1. Be prepared to look up when you meet him…

Unlike many people in the entertainment industry, Eldredge stands at a whopping 6 feet 5 inches tall. Maybe the country singer should trade out his vocals for some time dunking it on the basketball court?

Eldredge’s current single, “Somethin’ I’m Good At,” is making its way up the country radio charts now. Take a listen to that song and more of his hits with the playlist below.
