That’s right, folks… only 21 more weeks left until Christmas (not that we’re counting or anything)!

With Christmas in July specials on the Hallmark channel and the anticipation of cooler weather on the brain, we’re so ready for a fun, family-filled holiday season and this year, we’re extra excited about the new tunes we’ll be listening to. So far in 2016, five impressive country acts have revealed that they’ve been as busy as Santa and his elves while working on their own Christmas albums, due out later this year.

So we’re making a list (we’ve checked it twice) of all the great new holiday classics we can’t wait to pull out of our stockings that are hung by the chimney with care.

Chris Young

Looking like a kid on Christmas morning, Young shared the news of his first holiday album with a Facebook Live video while in a studio decked in holiday garb. “I am so excited. You guys know Christmas is one of my favorite times of year. I have so many Christmas songs I want to do that it’s hard to narrow it down to this album,” he said as Santa and an elf danced in the background.

Kacey Musgraves

Not much is known yet about Musgraves’ holiday album other than she’s been working on one. The “Biscuits” singer teased the news in early June with some snaps in the studio while surrounded with Christmas lights. “It might be June but we’re gettin’ festive! Be expecting a very special Christmas record for all you little elves comin’ out just in time to stuff your stockings! Put it on your lists! Thats all for now!” she wrote on Instagram. Come on Kacey, don’t leave us out in the cold!

Rascal Flatts

The superstar trio let the news slip while at their recent No.1 party for their song “I Like The Sound of That.” When asked if they were working on new music, they admitted they had been, but for their very first Christmas album.  The project is said to be laced with holiday classics that we all love to sing along to. The guys admitted they’d been having fun with the project, but “it’s a little odd to sing ‘Let It Snow’ in 100 degree weather, but it’s been fun.” PREACH, RF.

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood

OUR HOLIDAY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED! A duet album between two iconic singers will be everything we need to keep us toasty during those cold, winter nights. In the first of his new Facebook Live video series, Brooks dished on the duets album when he answered a question about the Christmas lights strung throughout the studio. “The reason (the Christmas lights are) always here is to represent what Christmas means to me,” said Brooks. Now if only he had answered when he’d share the holiday cheer with the rest of us!

Reba

We sang “O, Holy Night” the day we found out that the queen of country music would be releasing a country Christmas album! The icon will put her twist on 11 holiday classics in a new release that is exclusive to Cracker Barrel. So “Come All Ye Faithful” Reba fans… get you some biscuits & gravy while picking up a copy of the Oklahoma native’s new Christmas album. That’s ‘My Kind of Christmas,’ alright!

While dates for these projects have yet to be announced, we’ll just be here listening to our 12 favorite country Christmas albums from years past and wishing a Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
