It seems like ‘Today’ is going to be a good one for Brad Paisley, as he just earned himself his 24th No. 1 hit for his current single.

The sentimental tune climbed its way to the top of the charts thanks to its emotional connection to many listeners in regards to love and life. Even the music video for the track captured the poignant moments in a person’s life from graduations to marriage proposals to military reunions. While receiving such a huge career accolade, Paisley holds tight to the significance of the song’s lyrics.

“Today I’m releasing a song that means a lot to me,” Paisley wrote on Facebook back when he released the song late last year. “I hope it becomes a soundtrack for you, that you put it to video & use it in your lives. I wanna see the ways it becomes a part of your story. It’s yours now.”

“Today” was written by Paisley, Chris DuBois and Ashley Gorley, and holds the spot as the lead single for his forthcoming album, Love and War. The record will feature a dynamic tracklisting of special guests including hip-hop producer Timbaland, Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger and country icon Bill Anderson.

Love and War will be available for purchase on April 21.
