The Ryman Auditorium will welcome one of country music’s biggest names when the 12th annual ACM Honors takes place on August 22. Chris Stapleton has been invited by the Academy of Country Music to perform during the show that recognizes the special honorees and off-camera category winners from the 53rd ACM Awards. In addition to Stapleton taking center stage, the ACM has tapped Bobby Bones, Kip Moore and Ricky Skaggs to help present the night’s honors.
As well as preparing for Stapleton’s show-stopping performance, the ACM has invited Lauren Alaina, Kassi Ashton, Cam, Deana Carter, Morgan Evans, Dustin Lynch, Ashley McBryde, Old Crow Medicine Show, Jon Pardi and songwriters Dallas Davidson and Ben Hayslip to also take the stage.
Among the special honorees for the night will be Dierks Bentley and Sam Hunt, who will receive the ACM Merle Haggard Spirit Award and ACM Gene weed Milestone Award, respectively. Bentley earned the Merle Haggard award based on his ability and devotion to great storytelling in his songs.
