When a huge country legend such as Vince Gill invites you over to his home, you don’t even hesitate with saying one big yes.

Chris Young got the opportunity to work with the legendary singer on his latest single, “Sober Saturday Night.” Corey Crowder, co-producer of his album I’m Comin’ Over, hooked the pair together and Gill offered to have Young over for a collaborative session.

“When we went to record this with Vince, we already cut the track. I told him, ‘Hey, I’ll send it to you, if you want to be a part of it…that would be amazing but no pressure, I know you’ve got a lot of stuff going on.’  He’s like ‘Yeah man, honestly I love this.’ He goes, ‘I’ll do it. Come over to my house,’” Young explained recently.

For Young, the time spent with Gill was a dream come true and even Crowder got in on the monumental occasion for the two.

So, we went over to Vince Gill’s house,” said Young. “That was the one thing that I did, when I text Corey my co-producer, I was like ‘Hey man, I’m going over to Vince’s, do you want to go?’ And he was like, ‘Uh, yes! What time do I need to block off?’, and I was like ‘I think it should just take a couple hours.’ He goes, ‘What day? I’m knocking everything on my schedule, I don’t want anything in the way of this.’”

The time was well spent since it landed them “Sober Saturday Night.” But even more important was the memory Young will always have of that day.

Young is not only promoting the new single featuring Gill, but is also in the midst of getting ready to help kick off the CMA Fest Opening Ceremonies on June 8.
