Life is pretty golden for country legend Charley Pride as he celebrates his 50th year in the country music business with a tour throughout 2016.

Pride’s career is unmatched compared to so many other artists he’s been alongside throughout the years. As one of the first African-American artists to break the country barriers down, he trailblazed his way to success with an overwhelming 36 chart-topping singles. Fans still recognize his distinctive voice on tracks like “Kiss an Angel Good Mornin’” and “All I Have to Offer You is Me.”

The 1971 CMA Entertainer of the Year will make stops across the United States in cities such as Albuquerque, Arlington and right back in the country music capital of Nashville.

His stop here in Music City will mark his return to the Grand Ole Opry stage, in which he became a member back in 1993. For Pride though, the momentous announcement is an honor and an accomplishment just the same.

“I feel blessed that I’m still going strong after 50 years,” said Pride. “I’ve always loved to sing for audiences and that’s never going to change. It’s been a joy to visit so many different places in the US over the years.”

Fans can follow Pride as he starts his tour on April 30 and keep up with him through his website.
