Last night, Dierks Bentley teamed up with Elle King to perform their hit “Different For Girls” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

The pair have become fast friends since recording the duet together, but Bentley admits he was initially a bit nervous about how their voices would blend.

“She has such a unique voice, and you never know if her voice is going to blend with your voice,” Bentley said of working with the daughter of actor/comedian Rob Schneider. “I didn’t find out until I went down to the studio in Austin, and right away it was just a really natural sounding blend. Her voice just lifted up this song… And it really, it just took the song to a whole new place.”

Bentley and King have joined together for several special performances of the song, with appearances at the 2016 CMT Music Awards and during the nightly concerts at the 2016 CMA Music Festival.

“Different For Girls” is the second single from Bentley’s new album, BLACK. It follows his chart-topping single “Somewhere On A Beach.”
