Eric Church is ready to follow up his ACM Video of the Year “Mr. Misunderstood” with the brand new clip for “Record Year.”

The video enlists directors John Peets and Reid Long and features “Mr. Misunderstood” star McKinley James. James appeared in both the video and album cover for Church’s surprise album.

The video, shot in an abandoned schoolhouse in Nashville, also features Church playing his customized signature edition Gibson Hummingbird acoustic guitar. The singer’s band also makes cameos throughout the clip listening to vinyl records on turntables.

“Record Year” is the second single from Church’s fifth studio album, Mr. Misunderstood. The record was a surprise in itself as the North Carolina native sent it to his fan club members unannounced the day before it was released to iTunes.
