Exclusive: Tucker Beathard Talks About Inspiration Behind  ‘Home Sweet USA’

When creating his debut EP, Tucker Beathard wanted to show his love for his home country by putting an oldie-but-goodie onto the tracklist with his song, “Home Sweet USA.”

Taking a bit of a departure from the story of his hit single, “Rock On,” Beathard focused on where he was born and raised and how he reflects on each state’s personality binding together as one big united nation.

“’Home Sweet USA’ I wrote when I was about 16 or 17. It’s the oldest song on the EP. I tried to touch on as many qualities that each state has and it’s the best country in the world,” he says about the track in an exclusive behind-the-scenes video.

The song, which is one of the six tracks on Beathard’s upcoming EP, describes what it’s like to have every state and their personalities mix together, but also represents the freedoms citizens have thanks to the ones who risk their lives to let us keep the times easy.

“Now that I’m older, I think of it as more of a dedication to the troops who allow us to have the freedom to do what we do,” Beathard explains.

Beathard’s EP, Fight Like Hell, is set to release on Friday, October 7 and will feature “Home Sweet USA,” “Rock On,” and many more of the country newcomer’s catalogue. Get a sneak preview at “Home Sweet USA” in the video above.
