Newcomer Jackson Michelson offers a tender tribute to raising babies and wishing you could stop the clock in “One Day,” premiering a family-focused video for the track on Sounds Like Nashville today (March 19).

All about the push and pull of being a parent, the heartwarming track finds Michelson doing whatever he can to live in the moment … and his video works like an x-ray into a loving father’s soul. It finds the Portland, Oregon-native playing piano, strumming guitar and goofing around with his smiling co-stars — who happen to be his wife and three kids — all while candid home movies capture each moment as a priceless memory.

“‘One Day’ is the most personal song I’ve ever written and recorded,” Michelson explains of the sentimental standout. “It’s a glimpse into my life and the reality that time doesn’t stop for anything or anyone. Even as a young parent, it’s a reminder to soak in every moment with the ones you love, because someday we’ll be wishing for one day when they were young.”

“One day he’s gonna want my keys / One day she’ll be seventeen, running down the stairs in a prom dress / And we’ll be saying time went by fast / Wishing we could get some back / ‘Cause one day they walk and I swear the next they run / Maybe someday, we’ll be wishing for one day / One day when they were young,” goes the cozy chorus.

Michelson co-wrote the heartwarming “One Day” with Justin Ebach and Matt Alderman, the follow up to his out-now single “Stay Over” and last year’s “One at a Time.”
