Jake Owen is a devoted dad to his six-year-old daughter Pearl, so when he learned he was about to become a dad to another little girl, the singer was overjoyed. Owen glowed when asked about welcoming another little princess to the crew, saying that he was more than excited about his new daughter.

“I would say I think I manifested this myself, because after having Pearl, people asked me what it was like to have a little girl. I always said that if I could have a hundred more, I would. So, maybe this is two down, 98 to go,” he told Sounds Like Nashville and other local media ahead of his recent No.1 party with a grin.

As for getting to see Pearl with a little sister, Owen has no doubt that she’ll look out for the baby for the rest of her life.

“I think she’s really excited, because she’ll be a great sister. She’s already kind. I got a letter from her teacher the other day, which was great, about the kind of person she is to her classmates. She’s a kind friend, she said. She’s always willing to lend a helping hand,” gushed the proud father. “That makes me feel good as a father, because I always strive to be that myself, but to know that has worn off on her, she’ll be a great sister because of that.”

Owen’s baby news came as the singer was appearing on ABC’s I’m Coming Home. During some time at home with his family, he let slip that he and Erica would be expanding the family. Just days later, he revealed the gender while onstage at his iHeartCountry LIVE concert.
