Jason Aldean dove deep into the emotional tolls of a breakup in the new music video for his latest single, “Any Ol’ Barstool.”

Showing the back-and-forth between a bartender ignoring his woes while tending to patrons with shots and beer and his former flame cooped up alone at home pondering over what he’s doing, the Shaun Silva-directed video highlights the different steps taken between two ex-lovers who just want to get over the spark they once knew. As fights explode and text messages are sent, the girl runs to the side of her one-time partner to find his situation fixed by another lady cleaning things up.

Although Aldean is known more for his party-starter songs rather than his deeper cuts, he felt as though releasing “Any Ol’ Barstool” would show off another vulnerable side of the country singer that he wants fans to acknowledge in his music catalogue.

“This is one of those classic country heartache songs where the guy is trying to convince his girl that he is fine, but in reality he’s not,” said Aldean. “So, I wanted the video to relay that classic heartache scenario we’ve all been in, but with a little twist which Shaun is always good at.”

The track, “Any Ol’ Barstool,” is the follow-up to singles like “A Little More Summertime” and “Lights Come On” off of the Georgia native’s most recent record, They Don’t Know.
