Jeffery Austin Powers Through ‘Stay’ on ‘The Voice’ Finale
Jeffery Austin may be The Voice season 9's dark horse, but he owned the night with a powerful performance of Sugarland's hit, "Stay."
The Voice’s season nine finale was hotter than ever with an insanely talented top four taking the stage. One of the highlights was when Team Gwen contestant Jeffery Austin took on Sugarland’s power ballad, “Stay,” for his second performance of the night.
After the performance, Blake Shelton praised the singer’s talent. “You snuck up on all of us,” he said of the season’s dark horse.
Powers’ coach, Gwen Stefani, later praised him on Twitter, saying “Wow! Amazing performance from @JefferyAustin. So proud! #VoiceFinale”
The Voice season nine winner will be crowned in the show’s live two-hour finale tonight, which airs at 8pm ET on NBC.
