Jennifer Aniston and Dolly Parton have been a tight-knit pair since working together on the upcoming film, Dumplin’. Aniston stars in the movie as a former beauty pageant queen and mother whose plus-size teenage daughter signs up for the contest as a form of protest. The daughter, played by Danielle Macdonald, gains encouragement from listening to Parton’s music, hence the singer’s involvement in the film.

During a chat with Ellen DeGeneres on The Ellen Show, Aniston opened up about working with the living legend in the studio, and teased that she might even appear on the soundtrack. It was during a dinner at Aniston’s house with Parton and the film’s music supervisor that the actress joked about singing on one of the songs. Everyone had a good laugh about the thought and left the conversation alone.

“Then, literally last week we got this email from Sony that was the schedule for the recordings and there’s ‘Jen and Dolly 12- 1:30 on Tuesday’ and I was like, ‘This has got to be a joke, I’m not singing with Dolly Parton on an album that’s gonna be heard by hopefully millions of people,’ you know what I mean? So I’m still up in the air of whether or not I should do it,” shared the former Friends star.

DeGeneres quickly supported Aniston, saying, “Well, you can sing.”

Aniston still wasn’t quite sure if she should participate, to which the audience screamed and clapped in support.

While she never answered either way about her participation, Aniston was overjoyed to have spent as much time as she did with the singer.

“She’s magic,” she shared during an interview with InStyle previously. “I remember the first thing she said to me when she walked into my house. I said, ‘I don’t know how you do everything you’re still doing.’ She said, ‘Well, I dreamed myself into a corner, and now I gotta live up to it.’”

Dumplin’ is set for release later this year.
