2017 is shaping up to be one heck of a year for Jon Pardi. The California native just notched his second consecutive No.1 song with “Dirt On My Boots,” the second single from his No.1 album, California Sunrise.

“Having two back-to-back No. 1’s is unbelievable,” said Pardi in a press release. “It’s been so great to have an album people believe in.”

“Dirt On My Boots,” written by Rhett Akins, Jesse Frasure and Ashley Gorley, hit the top of the Billboard Country Radio Airplay charts this week, the same week Brad Paisley achieved his 24th No.1 for his hit “Today” on the Country Aircheck/Mediabase chart. The singer, who is one of country music’s few current hat acts, knew the song was a smash from the second he heard the song.

“The demo, I just heard the melody and lyrics, and I just felt like, man, I think this is really gonna be a jam,” he said recently. “When we finished, I described ‘Dirt on My Boots’ as like the song that you pull up to the club or the party and you’ve got your windows down and you’re blaring ‘Dirt on My Boots.’”

Pardi earned his first No.1 with the track “Head Over Boots” in August 2016. Since then, the singer has landed an opening spot on Dierks Bentley’s What The Hell Tour 2017, as well as a nomination for New Male Vocalist of the Year at the upcoming 52nd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. No word yet on the country radio follow up to the foot-stomping chart-topper yet.
