Kacey Musgraves is toasting the new year with a video for her cover of “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?” The somber song appears on the Texas native’s recently-released Christmas album, A Very Kacey Christmas.

“Working on my first Christmas album has been one of the most enriching musical experiences I’ve ever had and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it,” said Musgraves when the album was announced. “I really wanted to create a whimsical throwback holiday record, one that evokes feelings of nostalgia and simpler times. I think that the fine musicians and brains that were a part of this project have helped me create a body of music that can be added to people’s classic collections.”

“What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?” was originally written in 1947 by Frank Loesser. It’s been covered by many artists, including Harry Connick Jr., Donny Osmond, Barbra Streisand, Ella Fitzgerald, Patti LaBelle, Lee Ann Womack. It surged in popularity back in 2011 when actors Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt covered the song. The video of their version of the song has since garnered more than 17 million views.
