Kenny Chesney cherishes the special memories he makes with his closest friends in country music and highlighted some of those moments throughout his latest live album release, Live in No Shoes Nation.

Thinking back to the fun times he shared with Eric Church while out on the road during his 2013 tour, Chesney fondly thought of a specific song they collaborated on during the live show and knew the track was meant to have Church’s spirit added to it.

“I really believe that music is best when its shared, and there’s several shared moments on this live record that I’m very proud of, one of them being ‘When I See This Bar’ with Eric Church, who toured with us in 2013 on the No Shoes Nation Tour,” Chesney explains. “I can tell you that moment every night was very authentic and special because I know that Eric lived this song too because he called me one night when the song came out and said, ‘God, I love ‘When I See This Bar,’’ and I said, ‘Well if we’re really going to do this and tour next year, then you’re going to get up and sing it with me’ and he goes, ‘That’s a done deal.’”

Noticing the intangible yet real connection Church established with ‘When I See This Bar,’ Chesney wanted his vibe as a staple of the concert night after night and also felt like it was a perfect fit for his live album.

“I really felt like it was a song that he really connected to and I could tell when he got up on stage every night it was a part of his heart also and I’m very proud that I got to sing this song every night with Eric Church and that we actually thought to record it in Foxboro, Massachusetts the last night of the 2013 tour,” he said.
