Get your faces painted and pack your coolers full because Kenny Chesney is headlining a three-act concert at Bristol’s Tailgate Party on September 9.

The Honda Ridgeline Presents Bristol’s Tailgate Party will kick off a weekend of high-energy fun as the concert will pump up fans before the University of Tennessee takes on Virginia Tech in an epic football showdown. Chesney will headline the show, with bands Old Dominion and The Band Perry supporting the ticket.

Held at Bristol Motor Speedway, the concert event is sure to up the game for the venue’s potential and give way to a whole new set of special events that could be set there in the future. Besides, tailgates always hype the buzz up to another level beyond comparison.

“In terms of excitement, this year is a monster,” said Jerry Caldwell, executive vice president and general manager of Bristol Motor Speedway. “I didn’t think it was possible for the buzz around this game to get any louder, but Kenny Chesney coming home to lead a massive tailgate party? That news amplifies all the energy a thousand times over.”

For Chesney, the opportunity to perform is not just another concert date on the calendar, but rather a chance to revisit his college memories back when he attended East Tennessee State University.

“My days at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City are where I first learned to love what I do,” said Chesney. “I played a lot of music in the Bristol area during that time – and even made my first album there while still in college. I had a lot of dreams then, but never did I dream I would be playing at Bristol Motor Speedway. The idea of that was too big to dream. So to say I’m excited to be coming back to play in an area where this dream started is an understatement! Music and sports have defined my life, and it’s not every day an artist is allowed to combine the two for something as special as this.”

The ticket presale for Bristol’s Tailgate Party starts on June 6 and the general public ticket sale will follow on June 8. Tickets run anywhere from $39 to $225. For more information about the Tailgate, fans can find details on the website HERE.
