"The whole thing is about God being with you, basically, and making you remember why you fell in love with music—not losing faith and believing,” said Moore.

Kip Moore is preparing to release his third studio album, Slowheart, this September. The singer has been on a wild ride since releasing his platinum-selling debut album Up All Night and is continuing to dust himself off with the new song, “The Bull.”

The track is one of two songs featured on Slowheart that Moore did not co-write and the first time he’s recorded an outside track for one of his albums. Moore was pitched the song during a writing session with Luke Dick and Weston Davis, when Dick decided to play the song for Moore.

“We all three write a lot of songs together. I happened to be over there one day. We were writing something else, and he said, ‘Hey man, I’ve got this song that might really relate to you.’ He played me ‘The Bull,’ and I was like, ‘Well, I’ve got to record that now,’” Moore recalled during an album preview party in Nashville recently. “Anybody and whatever you do, we all get kicked in the teeth. It’s how we respond when we get kicked in the teeth. There’s been so many times when I’ve wanted to just cash in my chips, lay down, and not get back up. Scrape off my bruises and go home… Then there’s also that glory, giving everybody the middle finger that counted me out. That was the main reason I wanted to record it.”

Recording it wasn’t all he did for “The Bull.” Moore took it to the next level with his new music video, directed by his longtime friend PJ Brown. The two started with separate ideas for what they wanted it to look like, but were able to combine their visions for the fist-pumping clip.

“We were talking about the treatment for this video,” said Moore. “We had so many different ideas, and we kept bouncing them off of each other. PJ was like, ‘I want to do a futuristic world with you.’ Then I started saying, ‘I want to do this. I want to raise hell in a room and break a bunch of bottles.’ The whole thing is about God being with you, basically, and making you remember why you fell in love with music—not losing faith and believing.”

The clip begins with Moore playing his music to an uninterested crowd before calling it a day and walking out. The moment was complete with Moore grabbing a fans cell phone and tossing it over his shoulder. As the Georgia native makes his way home, he wallows in his frustration, drinking and throwing bottles. Moore is eventually abducted and brought to a raging party where gets a pep talk from a party-goer and dances the night away.

The song is one of the instant grat tracks from Kip Moore’s upcoming album, Slowheart. Fans who pre-order the album now will be able to download “The Bull,” as well as his Top 15 single, “More Girls Like You.”
