Listen to Jon Langston’s Reminiscent New Track, ‘Right Girl Wrong Time’

Jon Langston drew from his own romantic experience to pay tribute to the one that got away in his brand new single, “Right Girl Wrong Time.”

Opening up about a relationship gone by, Langston describes the crumbling foundation that comes with the price of a long-distance love. Even though everything between the couple seems to flow perfectly in tune with what love should be, the miles separating the two created an offset in the timing of their lives ..

While “Right Girl Wrong Time” marks a personal play in Langston’s book, he admits that writing from his own memories made for an easy session with no rough patches along the way. Giving his full emotion toward the situation in the writing room that day, the creation of the track basically wrote itself.

“It was just one of the songs that you write in 30 minutes. It just falls into place and it just feels so natural and very personable. We just told the story of it. So that’s how we really wrote it. It was just one of those quick writes where we were like, ‘This is awesome. This is so relatable and people are going to gravitate toward this,’ Langston said in a phone interview with Sounds Like Nashville.

Picking up steam with its original acoustic version, fans found themselves attracted to the honesty within the lyrics, as well as the ties to the slow musicality of the number. Even Langston supports the emotional capacity “Right Girl Wrong Time” emits despite being a moment that lies so close to home for the singer.

“I’ve always loved telling stories and telling real life experiences,” he explained. “Writing songs is one of the best ways to do it, I believe. It’s so heartfelt and so real. It’s such attached with emotion and definitely, that was one of those moments when we wrote that song.”
