Miranda Lambert has felt her share of emotions over the past couple years and she left her vulnerability on display in her poignant new single, “Tin Man.”

The simple ballad compares Lambert to that of the Oz character that spends his life dreaming to have a heart to feel and love. Singing openly about the heartbreaking effects of what love can actually do to a person, the country singer admits all of her powerless notions when it comes to dealing with the loss of a strong love.

Although Lambert’s voice typically remains sarcastic, the touching single sounds like that of an endearing word of advice while trying to hold strong throughout the stirring battles she’s faced. Simplistically sounding, Lambert’s vocal performance throughout “Tin Man” could strike a chord with any listener who has been eaten away by the tolls that heartbreak can take on one’s conscience.

With lyrics like, “Hey there, Mr. Tin Man / Glad we talked this out / You can take mine if you want it / It’s in pieces now / By the way there, Mr. Tin Man / If you don’t mind the scars / You give me your armor / And you can have my heart,” Lambert lays every piece of her soul through each verse diving deeper into the feelings she’s faced.

Lambert took a risk and debuted the single on live television at the 52nd Annual ACM Awards by performing the song acoustically and earning a standing ovation from her fellow country peers.

“Tin Man,” which is featured on Lambert’s current project, The Weight of These Wings, will be hitting country radio soon.
