Taking her sarcastic view on many of life’s problems to the radio waves, Aubrie Sellers is ready to introduce herself to the country world with her latest single, “Sit Here and Cry.”

Co-written by Sellers and longtime friend/collaborator, Adam Wright, the track takes breakup songs to the next level by poking a more ironic view on the issue rather than playing the whole ‘woe is me’ factor to the extremes.

“There may be people who think this is a song about being paralyzed ‘cause the guy left,” Sellers explained with a laugh. “Most girls are far less destroyed than people want to believe. So this song is like one giant eye roll, or maybe a ‘yeah, that’s what you think…’ set to music. We are stronger and bounce back faster than some songs paint us, and that’s what this song’s all about.”

Emphasizing the production levels to be toned down a lot less than normal for a sassy track, Sellers just wanted to showcase the pure fire within the lyrics rather than make the listeners get caught up in an over-the-top rock cut.

“When Frank (Liddell, the producer) and I were working on this track, I knew we wanted it to be aggressive without knocking people down. I wanted listeners to feel this girl was pissed. Anyone might think she was sad about the guy leaving, but especially that the guy might think it. The more we talked, we realized: less is more, because every instrument can really expand and hit as hard as those other records. It’s also the point: this girl is every bit as strong as whomever left her,” she said.

As a strong country female herself, the track stamps her mark on the industry for her authentic and hardcore self, not taking anyone’s nonsense as Sellers can put herself above the pack with her powerful lyric.
