Jason Aldean is slowing things down for his next single go-round with the release of his track, “Any Ol’ Barstool,” to country radio.

Striking up more of a Western old-timey vibe compared to Aldean’s popular catalogue, the song offers another dimension to the country star that many haven’t heard. Describing it as more of a song with a bit of anguish over lost love, Aldean finds it as just another connection to the human experience of romance.

“One of my favorite songs on the album is Any Ol’ Barstool,’”Aldean explains in the Sounds Like Nashville exclusive video. “It’s like one of those heartache songs, you know, relationship type songs that the guy’s trying to convince her that he’s doing fine and he’s like ‘I’m doin’ fine. I’m not drinkin’ too much, I’m not doing all this stuff. Just ask any ol’ barstool in town.’”

Looking back on the sounds he grew up with, Aldean hopes fans give this next single a better listen for the more traditional elements that he tried to capture from his Southern roots.

“It’s always cool to have songs like that on the record that are really more of a traditional type of thing because I love that,” he says in the clip. “I grew up listening to a ton of that stuff. I always think it’s important to have a little bit of that on each record.”

“Any Ol’ Barstool” is set to release immediately to country radio. Fans can listen to the track on Aldean’s latest project, They Don’t Know, which is available now.
