Get ready to put this track on repeat because Thomas Rhett’s new single featuring Maren Morris is about to wear down the radio speakers.

The country star released “Craving You,” a track written by acclaimed songwriters Julian Bunetta and Dave Barnes, that rocks out over an addictive love. As Rhett’s vocals drive the habitual chorus, Morris’ soulful sounds coo like an intertwined melody in bits and pieces throughout each of the verses and climaxing for an epic chorus finish. With desire and longing at the core, the fast country-pop song gets the heart pumping for that all-consuming passion in a relationship.

With lyrics like, “You’re like that cigarette, that shot of 100 proof / No matter how much I get, I’m always craving / That feeling when we kiss, the way your body moves / No matter how much I get, I’m always craving you / Craving you,” it’s no doubt this track will soar to the top of the charts as fans cling to its spirit.

“I’m so incredibly proud of ‘Craving You.’ It transports me right back to the eighties,” says Thomas Rhett. “There’s that Phil Collins-sounding drum, the stuttered bass notes. I’m a huge lover of the music from that genre and I think this song taps right into that vibe. And my fans know that I thrive on being unpredictable.”

Rhett was originally scheduled to take part in the songwriting session that spawned “Craving You,” but fate had other plans as he ended up being sick that day. It all worked out though because Bunetta and Barnes left with a track that Rhett was instantly drawn to. Adding Morris’ vocals to the mix was the icing on the cake for the 27-year-old.

“Every song is written for a reason, but it felt like this one was meant for me,” added Rhett. “I remember texting Maren and asking if she would sing on the song. She came over and just blew me away. I was amazed at how much her voice fit the song. Having a woman on the song made it twice as craving – a guy and a girl, obsessed with each other. I think that’s relatable.”

This marks the first taste listeners have heard from Rhett’s forthcoming album, which he has been working on over the past couple months. If “Craving You” is an indicator for what’s to come on his third studio project, Rhett definitely shows growth in both his voice and his developing infused sound.
