Just minutes after announcing a new album, a residency at Nashville’s The Ryman Auditorium, and the songwriter behind their new single, “Better Man,” Little Big Town released the music video for the Taylor Swift-penned tune.

“Becky Fluke and Reid Long shot this and they captured that wide scope of the subject of this song so beautifully and so powerfully,” said the group’s Jimi Westbrook. “That’s always such an amazing part of being a part of music is how people take it as their own story and it becomes something bigger than we even thought it was.”

The song is one the CMA Vocal Group of the Year hopes that their fans will relate to.

“Everybody has a ‘Better Man.’ It might have been a lover, but it might have been a parent that disappointed you or a friend,” Karen Fairchild explained. “I think the beauty of that storytelling is that we can all relate to being disappointed in someone and still loving them but saying ‘enough is enough. This would have been amazing if you had gotten your act together.’ And that’s kind of a fun song to sing.”

“Better Man” is the lead single from Little Big Town’s upcoming album, The Breaker, which is set for release on Feb. 24.

Coinciding with the release of the record will be the start of their six-date residency at the The Ryman Auditorium. Dates for the residency include February 24 & 25, May 19 & 20 and September 15 & 16. Brent Cobb and Ashley Monroe will open for the Grammy-award winning group during the first weekend, respectively. Tickets and special two-day packages for all shows are on sale now via ticketmaster.com and ryman.com.
