Little Big Town has a lot to celebrate lately. After recently winning the ACM Vocal Group of the Year for the third time and getting a Billboard Music Award nomination for top country song, the band can add a new certification to their list.

Before their concert in Baltimore, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) surprised Little Big Town by presenting them with a Double Platinum plaque for their hit single, “Girl Crush.” The slow song has blown up all over the music industry, breaking down the critical response it received back when it was released.

“Girl Crush” was written by acclaimed songwriters Liz Rose, Lori McKenna and Hillary Lindsey and has taken fans by storm. Little Big Town took home two CMA Awards, as well as three GRAMMY nominations resulting in two wins for the group in both the Best Country Song and Best  Country/Duo Group Performance.

The smash record also topped the charts for weeks at a time, remaining at No. 1 for a consecutive 13 weeks on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart which replaced the top group from 1959 for that honor. The second single off Little Big Town’s album, Pain Killer, received airplay on various radio station formats and garnered the support of quite a few other artists.

Little Big Town is on the road for the Kill The Lights tour with Luke Bryan. The group will play Nissan Stadium at CMA Fest 2016 to close out the festival.
