Loretta Lynn Back to Work After Stroke, Broken Hip
The end of 2017 and start of 2018 was a tumultuous time for living legend Loretta Lynn. The iconic singer/songwriter spent much of the year recovering from both a stroke and broken hip.
After months of rest and recuperation, Lynn is back at work, ready to include new songs in her already impressive catalog.
“At the Ranch yesterday filming for a music video for my new album called Wouldn’t It Be Great,” she shared with a photo to Facebook, adding that more details would be coming soon.
Fans can get a little taste of what to expect from the clip as the singer provided a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the video. Dressed in a red polka dot shirt with a side ponytail, the singer looks happy as a clam singing along to her new music.
Plans for the album, Wouldn’t It Be Great, were put on hold one year ago as Lynn recovered from a stroke. While the project was ready for release, she insisted on waiting to release it until she could fully support the album.
“My new album, Wouldn’t It Be Great, was originally scheduled to come in August this year. I now want to wait to release it next year because this record is so special for me,” she wrote in a statement posted to her Facebook in July 2017. “It deserves me at my best and I can’t wait to share it. I want to thank everyone for hanging in there with me. I am getting stronger every day and can’t wait to get back out there with all of you. I’m just letting everybody know that Willie ain’t dead yet and neither am I, and I can’t wait to see all of you on the road!”
“I was with Loretta yesterday. She is in good spirits and is doing as well as can be expected with this type of injury,” wrote Gayle in a tweet.
No word yet on when fans can expect Lynn’s latest project, Wouldn’t It Be Great.
