Slay, Mickey Guyton, slay!

Guyton took to her Twitter to release a stripped-down cover of Beyoncé’s hit single, “If I Were A Boy,” and never has the country singer sounded so flawless. In the black-and-white video, Guyton is staged in what looks like a home recording studio as the song is played by a fellow musician with an acoustic guitar.

The raw vocals on the vulnerable track showcased her country riffs and emotionally channels the depths of the song as Beyoncé did back when she released it in 2008. Even Guyton tweeted that she was feeling the vibes of Queen Bey as she belted the tune requested by fans earlier in the week.

At the end of the video, Guyton returns to her normal joking self and gets giddy over the idea of Beyoncé seeing her cover.

“Boom. Alright, Beyoncé. Watch this and love me. We could be sisters. I’m just saying,” she says after the take.

Just as Guyton knocked it out of the park with this cover, she will be taking home plate when she plays at the 26th Annual City of Hope Celebrity Softball Game with RaeLynn, Lauren Alaina, Jake Owen and many more. The soon-to-be announced teams will play head-to-head on June 7 at 3pm at First Tennessee Park in Nashville. Tickets to the game are available for purchase HERE.
