When Miranda Lambert announced her much anticipated studio album, The Weight of These Wings, would be released as a double album, she also let fans in on the fact that each disc represented something personal within her: “The Nerve” and “The Heart.”

In an intimate Instagram video, Lambert gave her followers the truthful inspiration of why she chose “The Nerve” to open up the project. Rather than giving it a simple explanation though, Lambert went down a more logical route to pinpoint her thoughts on “The Nerve.”

Defining the nerve as three different concept, Lambert takes time to explain that each idea embodies the vulnerability she put into her music on that disc.

“I found that very interesting because you think of nerves as—you say it all the time, ‘You’re getting on my nerves,’ or ‘My nerves are shot,’ or whatever—but it’s really so much deeper than just a part of your body. It’s part of your being,” she explains on the quick video clip.

Lambert is exploring all sides of her own being through this project, which reflects off of her already released tracks such as “Vice,” “Highway Vagabonds,” and “We Should Be Friends,” which happens to be her second single off the album. Fans are anxiously awaiting the album’s release to hear more of Lambert’s side of her story over the past few years, since her last record, Platinum, came out in 2014.

The country star will keep the momentum going for fans’ excitement as she is set to perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on November 17 and at the Thanksgiving Day Parade on CBS on November 24.

The Weight of These Wings will be available in stores and online on Friday, November 18, and fans can pre-order the album on digital music retailers now.
