There’s no time like the present, and for Old Dominion, sitting in the No.1 spot at country radio couldn’t make that statement any more correct. The quintet, make up of Matthew Ramsey, Brad Tursi, Trevor Rosen, Whit Sellers and Geoff Sprung, notched their second No.1 as a band when “Song For Another Time” topped the MediaBase and Billboard charts this week.

“When we went back into the studio to record ‘Song For Another Time’ to ensure it made ‘Meat And Candy,’ we had initially pitched that song to Chesney to record,” said the group’s frontman Ramsey. “It was one of the first times I can remember an artist telling us we needed to save a song for ourselves, so thanks Kenny!”

Added Rosen, “It definitely added something that we felt was missing on our album, and so to have it hit No. 1 feels really good as we trusted our instincts and as it turns out, they were right.”

Ramsey and Rosen co-wrote the track with band mate Tursi and songwriter Matt Jenkins, who also co-wrote “Half Empty,” “Wrong Turns,” and “Nowhere Fast” on Meat and Candy.

“We will never be able to truly describe what this album did for us and how everyone supporting it changed our lives,” shared Tursi.

Ramsey concluded, “It’s an incredible feeling to be on the receiving end of this much love from the fans, our friends at radio, the songwriting and music community…we’ve learned there are so many people who have to be behind you in order to get to live this dream and to receive recognition like this with the validation of a No. 1 on the charts, and to each and every one of them, we want to say ‘thank you.'”

The single follows their breakout hit “Break Up With Him,” the first song the entire band wrote together, and their Top 5 “Snapback.”
