Ryan Hurd digs deep into his vulnerable side for the black-and-white video for his recent release, “Hold You Back.”

The song, which was written by the team consisting of Hurd, Nicolle Galyon and Will Weatherly, talks all about the heartbreak that comes with letting someone go for the sake of them finding a better life somewhere else. Showing the elements of goodbye from a ‘Bon Voyage’ party banner to a letter of employment in another city, it looks as if Hurd lost out his love to the calling of the career.

This video marks the fourth video in four months that Hurd has released out to fans, bringing in huge numbers of streams toward his singles. He’s found previous success with his tracks like “Love in a Bar,” “City Girl,” and “We Do Us.”

Hurd is looking forward to a huge year in his country career as he will first hit the road with fellow country newcomer and girlfriend, Maren Morris, on her Hero Tour. He’ll follow it up with another spot reserved on the Home Team Tour with Thomas Rhett, Russell Dickerson and Kelsea Ballerini. Tickets and information about those tours are available on Hurd’s website.
