Thomas Rhett has a knack for nostalgia and knowing just want to say to make the ladies swoon. In the second single from his upcoming album, Rhett sings of the “Unforgettable” encounter with the woman he loves on the night they first met.

“It’s a song about reminding the girl that you’re with today, ‘Hey, I remember every single detail of the night we met,’” Thomas Rhett told The Tennessean of the song he penned with Jesse Frasure, Ashley Gorley and Shane McAnally. “I think it’s something girls will find sweet and attractive about someone they like.”

In a clip teased on Rhett’s Instagram, the singer croons of details from their first meeting, from the smell of her perfume to the blue jeans she wore. “I bet right now you’re probably thinking that it’s crazy I remember every detail but I do / I can still smell your perfume, girl that night was just like you / Unforgettable / From your blue jeans to your shoes, girl that night was just like you / Unforgettable,” he sings in the chorus.

The song has an early fan in the Georgia native’s wife, Lauren, who usually gives her stamp of approval on many of the songs he releases.

“It’s one of Lauren’s favorite songs on the record … which definitely makes me feel better about it,” he added.

“Unforgettable” is the second single from Thomas Rhett’s upcoming third studio album, which is expected to release this fall. The track follows Rhett’s fastest rising single, “Craving You,” featuring Maren Morris.
