104-Year-Old Great-Grandmother’s Dream Is To Meet Garth Brooks

104-year-old Mildred Loveday has one wish… to meet country superstar Garth Brooks.

Loveday owns every one of Brooks’ albums, including his greatest hits compilations. She’s read books and magazine articles about him and watched him perform on television, but has never had the chance to see him live.

“At night when I am sick and lonely, I play his music and it calms me and makes me feel good. He just sounds so pretty,” Loveday told AL.com.

“She just loves him dearly,” Brian Brooks, Loveday’s great-grandson, told the news outlet. “She always has to know what he is doing. She loves Trisha’s cooking show also. Loves to read about him and keep up-to-date on him. Never misses a CMA show because she knows he will be on there.”

Recently, Brian created a Facebook page to help his great-grandmother’s dream come true. “I just hope it reaches the people it needs to reach to. We haven’t heard any word yet from Garth Brooks or his people or crew. I have a friend that has connections to one of Garth’s guitar players. We sent him a message but no word back from him yet. Just trying to get the word out. We feel someone somewhere knows (Brooks) well enough to call him and we believe that if he hears about her he has to respond.  We hope.”

In the meantime, Loveday will be listening to her favorite Garth Brooks song, “Friends in Low Places.”
