Love was certainly in the air in Nashville this year.
In 2017 alone, 12 country stars promised themselves to another when they either popped the question or answered with a loving “yes!”
Among the artists gearing up for a stroll down the aisle are power couple Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd, who are set to tie the knot after a romantic lake proposal. Scotty McCreery also decided he’d found “the one” when he proposed to his longtime girlfriend during a mountainside hike, while “Room to Breathe” singer Chase Bryant’s love story began on set during a music video shoot, and culminated in a proposal that was straight out of a movie.
As the year comes to an end, we’re taking a look back at all of the country stars who got engaged in 2017 and re-living their romantic proposals…
A Thousand Horses’ Graham DeLoach
Just weeks into the new year, Graham DeLoach of A Thousand Horses decided to make a resolution to be a great husband when he dropped to one knee and proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Andrea Evans. DeLoach’s romantic proposal took place during a winter getaway in Aspen, CO. After slipping the ring on her left hand, he posted a snap of his fiancée, with the caption, “I put a ring on it.”
Cassadee Pope
Cassadee Pope, Rian Dawson
After many years together, Cassadee Pope happily accepted the sweet, at-home proposal from her boyfriend Rian Dawson. With the help of their pup, Cuppy, Dawson surprised an unsuspecting Pope with the life-changing question. Unfortunately after five months, the couple “amicably ended their relationship, but remain friends, supportive of each others’ careers, and maintain the utmost respect for one another.”
The Swon Brothers’ Colton Swon
Colton Swon of The Swon Brothers found mainstream success after their stint on NBC’s hit show The Voice, but his most precious take-away from the show is his fiancée, Caroline Glaser. After meeting on the set of The Voice in 2013, the couple followed their hearts to one another for a one-of-a-kind engagement. Glaser happily said “yes” after Swon aired a homemade movie trailer that played across the silver screen at a Nashville-area move theater. “I’ve been dreaming her up my whole life and she’s so much more than what my simple mind could come up with,” wrote Colton with a photo of her new bling.
Kane Brown

Kane Brown may sing about “What Ifs” in his most recent single, but he’ll no longer have to question things after his girlfriend, Katelyn Jae happily agreed to become his bride. Brown shared the news of their Easter engagement during a show in Philadelphia, Jae’s hometown.
James Barker Band’s James Barker
Rising Canadian country star James Barker of the James Barker Band will soon take a walk down the aisle after proposing to his girlfriend, Steph. “I found a wifer and made her my lifer!!!!!” wrote the singer with a photo that showcased Steph’s beautiful ring and a paw belonging to the couple’s pup, Bobby Martin.

Maren Morris has had a banner year with her career, and her personal life is blossoming just as much. During the Fourth of July holiday weekend, Morris said “yes” to her boyfriend, fellow singer/songwriter Ryan Hurd. Hurd took the opportunity to ask for her hand during an evening boat ride at his parent’s lake house in Michigan. As they celebrated their upcoming nuptials, fireworks rang out across the sky. The couple relived their engagement months later when they returned to the lake house to film Hurd’s music video for “Love in a Bar.”
Josh Abbott Band’s Josh Abbott
Josh Abbott Band’s Josh Abbott had a little extra help when it came time to propose to his girlfriend, Taylor Parnell. With the assistance of the couple’s daughter, Emery, Abbott pulled off one of the most precious proposals. “Good news! She said yes,” Abbott shared with a photo of Emery in a “Mommy will you marry Daddy” onesie and the ring strategically placed nearby. How could anyone say no?
Chase Bryant
After meeting on the set of his “Room to Breathe” music video, Chase Bryant and Kourtney Kellar’s storybook love story came to life when Bryant pulled off a movie-style proposal. Taking Kellar to the location of their first kiss, Bryant dropped to one knee as it began to rain. The moment took Kellar’s breath away as she cupped her hand over her mouth in shock and excitement.
Runaway June’s Hannah Mulholland
After six years together, Hannah Mulholland of Runaway June and her boyfriend, Ian Jay, are engaged to be married. Mulholland simply alerted fans to her impending nuptials with a tweet that read, “just 2 crazy kids who decided they’re gonna marry each other. ~Hannah.” The couple were engaged in their home state of California.
Scotty McCreery
Scotty McCreery is officially off the market after proposing to his longtime girlfriend, Gabi Dugal. “I’ve been planning this moment for so long that it feels surreal for it to have finally happened,” said McCreery of his cliff-side propoal. After going on a hike near Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina, McCreery finally worked up the courage to ask for Gabi’s hand in marriage. The couple met back in grade school, to which Dugal admittedly used to doodle ‘Mrs. Gabi McCreery’ in her notebooks.

During a September vacation in Jamaica, CMT’s Cody Alan asked Trea Smith for his hand in marriage. The beachside proposal reminded the couple of something straight out of The Bachelor. “I told him how much I loved him, and with a few tears and a crack in my voice, I gave him the ring and asked him to marry me. Lucky for me, he said ‘yes!’” said Alan.

Megan and Liz have much to celebrate this holiday season as Liz said “YES” to her boyfriend Weston Amick’s wintery proposal. Liz announced the news on Instagram with a photo of her overwhelmed reaction. “There, at the top of the world – we decided to be each other’s for ever and ever. 💍 We’re ENGAGED,” she wrote. Her sister and duo partner, Megan, couldn’t resist in reveling in the news, also posting “MY TWINNIE IS GETTING MARRIED.”
