ACM Awards: Blake Shelton Out, Luke Bryan Looks For New Co-Host

Say it isn’t so — “Bluke” is no longer!

According to a new promo spot released by the Academy of Country Music and Entertainment Tonight, Blake Shelton will no longer host the ACM Awards alongside Luke Bryan.

In the clip, which can be viewed below, Bryan is seen at a bar, distraught over losing his partner in crime. He’s handed a drink from a hidden barkeep, who listens to the Georgia native’s woes.

But who is the new co-host? The trailer gives a few hints. At the start of the clip, you see a dog standing by the door, resembling Dierks Bentley’s dog Jake. At the end you hear, “Tip that on back, I’m sure you’ll find your answer,” hinting at Bentley’s song, “Tip It On Back,” from his Home album. We’re not the betting kind, but if we were, our money’s on Dierks as the Luke’s new sidekick. Now we just have to come up with a new couple name for the pair…Duke? Lierks?

Shelton hosted the ACM Awards a total of five times: two with Reba, and three with Bryan.
