During tonight’s two-hour live Season 10 finale of NBC’s The Voice, Blake Shelton’s final contestant Adam Wakefield showed the studio audience and viewers at home exactly why he made it to the final round.

The Nashville native stepped up to the plate as he performed for one of the final times on The Voice stage with 27-time Grammy winner Alison Krauss. The performance of Little Feat’s “Willin'” perfectly blended their voices and the two earned a standing ovation from the show’s coaches.

Wakefield joined season 10 after his blind audition, where he performed George Jones’ “Tennessee Whiskey.” He earned a two-chair turn from Shelton and Adam Levine, but it was ultimately his ties to his home of Nashville, TN that sealed his fate on Team Blake.
