Florida Georgia Line felt the whirlwind sweep of success from the moment their debut single, “Cruise,” soared up the country charts many years ago. Even still, they look to their peers for insight on how to manage the fame and fortune.

With countless No. 1s under their belt and sell-out tours hitting cities all across the country and beyond, Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley have lived quite the adventure in their music career. The duo put together pop collaborations and broke the barriers of what country music used to be with their rock-influenced tone. Nevertheless, they recently leaned on the good word from Alabama on the balance between the entertainment world and life back at home.

“Jeff Cook from Alabama, they were having a good time at the CMT Artist of the Year. They were having a really good time and he came over and whispered something in my ear and he said, ‘Enjoy the ride and make adjustments when necessary.’ I was like, ‘What did he just say?’ That was a little piece of gold right there and I think that’s something that we’ve kind of taken and, yeah absolutely, you’re never ready. But I think if you can just make little adjustments, minor adjustments and balance it out, I think you’re fine and I think that’s what we’ve done and just try to enjoy every step of the way and just try to be ourselves.  And we’ve got a really good team around us to balance us out and our wives are absolutely amazing, no doubt about that,” Kelley said recently.

Florida Georgia Line just hit the No. 1 spot on the charts for their collaboration with the Backstreet Boys, “God, Your Mama, and Me.” Adding to their growing list of accomplishments, the guys sought out the right source of advice in the men of Alabama as they’ve become a solid household name from the music industry for decades on end.

Right now, Florida Georgia Line is out on their Smooth Tour for the summer with dates lined up in cities nationwide.
