Season 10 of NBC’s hit show The Voice has a new winner… Alisan Porter!

After months of competing on the hit show, Porter landed herself in the final four, eventually being named the winner. Before being crowned with the title, the hopeful took to the show’s stage for one of the final times to perform with powerhouse singer Jennifer Nettles. The two performed Nettles’ current single “Unlove You” from her new Playing With Fire album. The performance perfectly blended two duo’s voices and Porter’s coach couldn’t have been prouder.

Porter came onto the show after many ups-and-downs in her life. After starring as Curly Sue at a young age, the singing hopeful turned to drugs and alcohol. After battling her addiction and becoming sober, Porter married, had children and eventually made her way to the popular show.

During her blind audition, she earned a four-chair turn from the coaches with her rendition of “Blue Bayou” by Linda Ronstadt. She landed herself on Christina Aguilera’s team after the two discovered a connection as working mothers.

The win marks the first time a female coach has won with a contestant on the hit show.
