After American Idol got the green light to continue on for a second season on ABC, the creators began to plan their 2019 journey by plotting cities for their upcoming talent search.

Exploring towns across the country from Seattle to Philadelphia to Houston, the producers will give the hopefuls a shot to give it what they got in order to possibly move on to the television portion of the series. Rather than narrow down the locations to a tiny list of big cities, they decided to see what all corners of the nation had to offer in their singing talent and will look for the best of the best in the fall.

Those who can’t make it to the live auditions can make their own submissions through the American Idol Auditions link or by tagging a video of their performances with #TheNextIdol on social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Musical.ly.

As seen on last season, the show crowned Maddie Poppe as the next American Idol and she became the youngest winner in history to take home the prize. She celebrated the life-changing moment with a rendition of her induction song, “Going, Going, Gone,” and her status rose to stardom practically overnight.

Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie will make their expected return to the next season of the series, with Ryan Seacrest also signing on for another go-round with AI. There is no official premiere date for the upcoming season at this time.
