Our sincerest condolences go out to Ashley McBryde, who is mourning the loss of her older brother Clay. Few details of his passing have been made available, but an obituary for William Clayton McBryde, Jr. states that he passed on June 20 in his home.

Clay was a 25-year veteran of the Russellville Police Department. He also served more than four years in the United States Army, with a deployment to Iraq, and taught Bible study and preached at a local church. The Arkansas native is survived by his wife of seven months, one son, one grandson, many siblings, nieces, nephews and his father, William McBryde, Sr.

In lieu of flowers, Clay’s son and Ashley have requested donations to be made to the charity Mission 22, an organization that strives to prevent suicide among war veterans who suffer from PTSD and traumatic brain injuries.

“For those who have asked about flowers and donations, my nephew has asked that we make donations to Mission 22 in my brother’s honor. Please note that the donation is in honor of Clay McBryde. Thank you ever so much.”
