When the Pistol Annies first emerged, they came out guns ablazing. With songs like “Hell on Heels” and “Takin’ Pills,” the powerhouse trio, made up of Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley, was a force to be reckoned with.

However, during the summer of 2013, the group suddenly canceled all of their tour dates and said Lambert would continue the tour as a solo act. Now, more than two years later, the band may be getting ready for a comeback.

“It’s definitely brewing,” Monroe told Fuse of the trio’s comback. “We’ve been missing each other a lot. We recently went on a run with Miranda and we all had chills every night walking up onstage. We have a lot of song ideas going. I feel like it’s soon.”

Although the ideas are swirling and things are happening, Monroe admits that there’s never been much planning when it came to the group.

“You know, Pistol Annies started out that it was just organic. Me and Miranda thought of it on a couch, she had never met Angaleena, and we called her and got started. That’s the thing with us, we never want to force it. If we’re too busy, then don’t force it, they’ll be a time when things let up a little bit, then we’ll make more music.”

For now, Pistol Annies’ fans will have to stay satisfied with the two  albums they did release, 2011’s Hell on Heels and 2013’s Annie Up.
