Tomorrow’s 51st Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will be a star-studded gathering of who’s who in Country music. Taking the stage to perform during the Luke Bryan/Dierks Bentley co-hosted ceremony will be an array of artists, including seven-time nominee Chris Stapleton and Chris Young with Cassadee Pope.

Our cameras were backstage once again during ACM rehearsals where we had a chance to catch up with the singers before they take the stage during “Country Music’s Party of the Year.”

Stapleton, who is already a winner, having been named ACM New Male Vocalist of the Year last week, has a simple approach to performing on award shows.

“We get to do things like this on occasion. It’s always the same process for me, I’m gonna walk up there and play music,” he told us. “Hopefully, if that’s in a really tiny place, or a really big place, hopefully that goes over, and if it doesn’t, that’s still what we got.”

The Kentucky native may be one of this year’s top nominees, but he’s not concerned about whether or not he’ll take home more trophies.

“We already win just by being here and getting to be a part of it,” he said. “As long as you approach it with that mentality, no bad can come of it.”

We also caught up with Young and Pope, who are gearing up for the television debut of their hit duet, “Think Of You.” While they wouldn’t completely dish on what fans can expect from their performance, they did tell us that it will include an unexpected ending.

“We’ve been telling everybody, there’s kind of a surprise thing going on in there,” Young shared.

“A little sprinkle, that’s all I’m gonna say,” Pope added with a smile.

Young concluded, “It’s something a little bit different than has ever been done before. We just wanted something that was just like an extra pop on the end of the performance. It’s gonna be great.”

Fans will have to tune in to the ACM Awards on CBS tomorrow at 8/7c to see what Young and Pope have up their sleeves.
