As season 11 of NBC’s The Voice swings back into the primetime lineup, former country star Billy Gilman is making his name known once again.

Gilman announced to his fans on his social media months ago that he would indeed be trying out and featured on the hit reality singing competition show and the time has finally come. Releasing the video of his blind audition to The Voice’s YouTube channel, Gilman’s audition shows his potential for becoming a huge star yet again thanks to the show.

Selecting Adele’s hit, “When We Were Young,” as his audition song, Gilman sounds like he’s shed the country twang from his vocals and focused more on his clear, powerful runs. Creating high points throughout his performance with pitch-perfect high notes, Gilman puts his own take on the soulful song and still honors the beautiful melody of it.

As seen in the clip, coach and pop singer Adam Levine is the first star to push that button and turn his chair to face Gilman. Following up pretty quickly to Levine’s move is Miley Cyrus, and as the audition comes to a close, both Alicia Keys and Blake Shelton wind up swiveling their red chairs around as well for Gilman and give him a full roster of coaches to choose from.

Instantly, Shelton and Cyrus remember Gilman from his younger success with his hit, “One Voice,” and use that as their strategies to get him to choose one of them. Of course, it isn’t The Voice unless some banter and friendly competition is involved as the coaches lightly bicker with each other for Gilman’s attention.

To see who Gilman selected as his coach and to watch more blind auditions from this season, viewers can tune into NBC on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
