As two legendary artists from the past collide, Billy Ray Cyrus and Cheap Trick rocked their collaborative performance at the 2016 CMT Music Awards.

The iconic artists played a mash-up of Elvis Presley’s “Don’t Be Cruel” with Cheap Trick’s “Surrender” on the outdoor Broadway stage. The crowd sang along to the classics as they shredded on their guitars and amped up the outdoor stage for the night. Channeling his inspiration behind his new album, Cyrus showed tribute to Presley with his song and his style of performance.

Cyrus will be releasing a new album within the year, featuring his new single dedicated to the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, “Hey Elvis.” Cheap Trick was nominated for CMT Performance of the Year with Jennifer Nettles for their duet on CMT Crossroads.
